The Tribune-Democrat
May 2012- July 2012
The Tribune-Democrat is the local newspaper in Johnstown, Pa. I interned under the director of the advertising and public relations departments of the newspaper. Additionally to helping with the newspaper, I worked with the editor of The Johnstown Magazine. I helped plan and coordinate daily goals and responsibilities for account executives. Worked in a professional office atmosphere gaining hands on experience to meet deadlines and accomplish weekly task. Also spent time researching the field, then developing sales flyers and informational packets for sale associates to use.
Discovery Communications is the world's #1 nonfiction media company reaching more than two billion cumulative subscribers in over 220 countries and territories. I interned under the social media manager within the communication department. I focused on social media platforms for Discovery’s five emerging television channels and developed marketing strategies for upcoming television shows. During the internship program, I worked as an intern team to research and create a business plan that was presented to executives of Discovery Communications.
